Syria conflict: The children’s Clown of Aleppo dies in air strike

Anas al-basha, a Syrian 24 year old man, better known as the clown of Aleppo has been killed in an air strike whilst doing what he liked best, comforting the children of the besieged city of Aleppo.

Working as a volunteer for the civil society group, Space of Hope the young man had the chance to evacuate from the Mashhad neighbourhood of Aleppo when Government forces heightened their assault on rebel-held strongholds but decided to stay and help the approximate 100,000 small children caught up in the conflict.

His brother Mahmoud al-Basha, wrote on Facebook saying; "He lived to make children laugh and happy in the darkest most dangerous place”

Authors note: The food has now run out in Aleppo, there are no hospitals left in the city thus leaving over 250,000 people including 100,000 innocent children hiding in the rubble of what was once the great city of Aleppo.

RIP Anas al-basha the children’s clown of Aleppo.
