Eight migrants aged between 22 and 48, all of whom arrived in Austria between May and December 2015, from Iraqi, have been jailed between nine and 13 years, for the brutal gang rape of a German Tourist, during New Year celebrations, in the European Austrian City of Vienna.
Like many others, the victim was out in the city center of Vienna where she had just seen in the New Year when, at approximately 02:00, she was spotted by four of the Iraqi migrants, who promptly took her to an apartment where another four of the gang lay in wait.
It was here, according to the prosecution that while she was in an "unconscious, shock-rigid" state each man then raped her leaving her unconscious on the bed while they continued their celebrations.
The 28-year-old woman was awarded by the court, €25,000 ($26,300; £22,300) in damages to help her overcome and treat the post-traumatic effects the vicious attack had caused.
