The 19-year-old brother of Nadir Syed who was jailed for plotting a beheading on Remembrance Sunday in 2014, has been found guilty of planning a bomb attack, possibly at an Elton John concert in Hyde Park on the anniversary of the 9/11 attack.
The young man, Haroon Syed, from Hounslow in west London, was caught online when he entered a chat room set up by undercover British agents.
The packed Old Bailey courtroom heard how Syed attempted to buy weapons which included a bomb vest, explosives and a machine gun, he also researched on other occasions where to carry out his deadly attack, noting down the busiest areas of London.
Speaking to the hushed court the Judge Michael Topolski QC said, Syed faced a "discretionary life sentence" and would be sentenced in June.
Haroon Syed apparently did little to cover his tracks, as can be seen by the nature of his arrest, arrested on the 8th September after police asked him for his password to unlock his phone he replied. "Yeah I.S.I.S - you like that?"
We await his sentencing.
