Breaking News: Afghan officials are reporting that Kabul’s Intercontinental hotel is under attack by gunmen, possible suicide bombers may be among them.
Although details of the attack are sketchy at this time, the Afghan spy agency and the interior ministry are saying Afghan Special Forces are battling at least four gunmen who are indiscriminately shooting hotel guests.
The attack started at 21:00 local time (16:30 GMT) and has progressed fast. No figures of casualties have been released yet, but it is known that the attackers have set the hotels kitchen ablaze while other reports say that the hotel's fourth floor was also ablaze. One guest said that they were all hiding in their rooms
Another guest said "I don't know if the attackers are inside the hotel but I can hear gunfire from somewhere near the first floor,
"We are hiding in our rooms. I beg the security forces to rescue us as soon as possible before they reach and kill us."
