Tsunami Alert following Alaska Quake

Following a 7.9 strength earthquake, off the Alaska US coast, a tsunami alert has been issued for California, British Columbia and the full coastline of Alaska.


We are informed by the US National Weather Service that Anchorage is in the most danger where an extreme warning has been put in-place where they are saying there is an "extraordinary threat to life or property".


The actual quake occurred 300km south-east of Kodiak at a depth of 10km at 00:31 (09:31 GMT) as reported by the US Geological Survey.
