Presidential motorcade crash five dead

Three soldiers and two civilians have been killed after a cement truck slammed into a Presidential Motorcade in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the President, Joseph Kabila was not hurt and stayed behind to help the injured.

The deadly accident occurred when the President was returning to the capital Kinshasa after opening an oil rig in the port city of Matadi. Eyewitnesses reports that heavy rain was falling at the time of the crash but also say that speed was a major factor in the collision, eleven others were also injured. President Joseph Kabila has been in power since the assassination of his father in 2001.

Politically the President has been under immense pressure to step down since his turn of office expired back in November 2016. No one this far has said that this may have been an assassination attempt and believe that this was no more than a deadly accident.
