Following a Russian attack on three Ukrainian ships, an attack which wounded six Ukrainian sailors, the Ukraine, have declared marshal law and mobilised the countries air defenses, in an apparent attempt to combat any further intrusions by Russian military forces, stationed in Russian-occupied Crimea.
Sources inform us that following the attack, Russian coast guard ships seized both the ships along with the crews.
How far the Ukrainian government will go with their mobilisation is yet, not known, but it must be said that the Ukraine have been forced into a corner as Russian ships continue to blockade Ukraine’s only access to the Black Sea, the Kerch Strait.
Both the United Nations and NATO are now scrambling to come up with some form of response what that will be is anyone’s guess, but its quite clear judging by the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley’s comment saying Russia's reported actions were an “outrageous violation of sovereign Ukrainian territory,” saying they marked “yet another reckless Russian escalation.”
