Armoured vehicles and 89,000 #French security forces have been deployed in #France and armoured vehicles will patrol the streets of #Paris, in an ongoing running battle with #yellowvest #demonstrators.
A clearly agitated French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner, wasted no-time in declaring that the #yellowvests have “created a monster,” going onto say that "radical elements" could infiltrate planned "yellow vest" protests this weekend. All tourist sites within #Paris will be closed this coming Saturday.
So is the mood of the French populist that, what started off as a demonstration against higher fuel taxes, has now spread to different issues, including education reforms to mention just one.
It is yet to be seen if the current demonstrators will go as far as their ancestors, who, on the 14th July 1789, stormed the east side of Paris known as the #Bastille (a defining moment in the French #revolution that followed) only time will tell.
However; with the above in-mind, it is quite clear that the French population today, is in now mood for promises from the French government, they want change now and images of students being forced to kneel with their hands behind their heads in Mantes-la-Jolie, to the west of Paris, will not help the French government in the least.
As for the #yellowvests the police have apparently seized 28 Molotov cocktails and 3 homemade bombs from "yellow vest" protesters in the south of the country a sign that this protest is spiraling into a confrontation which the French have not seen since the 14th July 1789, the storming of the #Bastille
