March 25, 2019

An Israeli response to a rocket attack, launched from the Rafah area in southern Gaza was always expected, but the speed of the Israeli response has stunned even the most hardened follower of the Israeli Palestinian conflict.

The response an air attack using guided missiles, apparently hit a Hamas naval position west of Gaza City while the other homed in on a Hamas training camp in northern Gaza. No reports of any casualties have so far been received. Global Breaking News Hub will report any updates as soon as they are available.

The attack that required an Israeli response is an attack allegedly carried out by Hamas, who fired rockets into the town of Mishmeret on Monday morning, the furthest target within Israel Hamas has managed to target before. In this attack, medical services alleged that seven people were wounded in the attack, including two women and five others an infant, a three-year-old boy and a twelve-year-old girl. Hamas denies the assault.

Meanwhile, over in the United States, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who was attending a ceremony with the US President Donald Trump, said the attack carried out by Hamas was quite clearly "wanton aggression".

Authors note: At the ceremony attended by both the Israeli Premier and the American President a proclamation was signed by both attendees recognising Israeli sovereignty over the occupied Golan Heights, which they captured back in 1967 from Syria.
